Kreupasanam Rosary Maha Rally 2024: Instructions

The 'Kreupasanam Rosary Maha Rally' (അഖണ്ഡ ജപമാല മഹാ റാലി) is organized by the Kreupasanam Marian Shrine, located at Kalavoor in Alappuzha, Kerala, on the last Saturday of October every year. The first rally, held in 2002, saw only a few hundred participants. However, the rally on October 28, 2023, attracted about six lakh participants, and this year ie 2024, it is anticipated that over one million people will take part, thus making it the largest Rosary rally in India and possibly in the whole world.

The Kreupasanam Maha Japamala Rally is conducted for the attainment of individual blessings, as well as for the well-being and peace of the state, country, and the world. People from all walks of life, irrespective of religious or racial differences, join this 'Akhanda Japamala Rally' in large numbers, traveling from both nearby and distant places.

As the grand rally commences from Kreupasanam at 6.00 am and concludes at St. Andrew's Basilica in Arthunkal, it covers a considerable distance. With the number of participants having increased significantly, the route has been changed this year to avoid inconvenience to the general public and minimize traffic congestion. The rally will now proceed along the beach road, which is free from traffic issues and lined with many shady trees, providing a more comfortable and unobstructed path.

**Instructions for Participants of the Rosary Rally:**

1. Participants should carry essentials such as a hat, umbrella, water, and refreshments.

2. Bring a carry bag to store your shoes or sandals while walking on the sand.

3. For those unable to walk along the beach road, can avail the bus services towards Arthunkal.

4. Participants over the age of 60 or those with heart diseases or other serious illnesses are advised not to participate in the rally.

5. KSRTC buses are arranged from Arthunkal Basilica Church to the national highway, and authorities will assist devotees in catching buses to their destinations.

6. Those arriving in personal vehicles should affix the front page of the October issue of the Kreupasanam newspaper to their vehicle for proper guidance by traffic police. Vehicles should not be parked along the sides of Arthunkal Basilica Road under any circumstances.

Rally inauguration and flag off will be done by Rt Rev Dr Varghese Chakkalakkal, Bishop of Kozhikode, and the rally captain is Rev Fr Dr V.P Joseph, the founder Director of Kreupasanam Marian Shrine.
