“You Will Have a Child”
A Testimony of Persistent Faith and Divine Promise
For 20 long years, a married couple - Nisha Raja and Raja - journeyed in unmet longing. Two full decades passed with hopeful hearts, countless dreams cradled and then laid aside. They consulted twenty-two doctors, pursued every medical test, every possible treatment; yet none brought fruit, none gave the blessing they yearned for—a child!
In their despair and growing exhaustion, they encountered Rev. Fr. V. P. Joseph of Kreupasanam, a man whose words would become a turning point. Against all medical odds, he declared with faith and certainty: "You will have a child"!
The Burden of Waiting:
* Doctor after Doctor: Over twenty years, they sought medical advice, diagnostics, interventions — but none succeeded. Their story is one of hope deferred, and disappointment piled upon disappointment.
* Faith tested: In this time, discouragement, isolation, guilt, and unanswered “why?” questions must have been constant companions. Faith waned at times; doubt must have tempted. But they pressed on.
The Declaration of Hope:
When Rev. Fr. Joseph spoke, it was not from enthusiasm born of ignorance, nor from blind optimism. It was born of prayer, of conviction, and trust in God’s word. He declared what the couple could no longer see with their eyes, but believed in their hearts.
That declaration was a turning point—not simply because it offered hope, but because the couple chose to believe it, to cling to it. In darkness, they believed light. In silence, they believed God was speaking.
The Miracle:
Some time after Fr. Joseph’s prophecy, their faith was rewarded: they conceived and moved forward to welcome a child. A promise made, long delayed, now fulfilled.
This testimony underscores that healing and deliverance may not occur instantly sometimes, but God’s timing is perfect. What medical science could not accomplish in twenty years, what twenty-two doctors could not deliver, what perhaps seemed impossible—still remained possible with God.
Lessons of Faith from their Story:
1. Perseverance in Prayer
The couple did not give up hope. Their story reminds us to keep praying, to keep believing, even when all human avenues seem exhausted.
2. Faith Beyond Circumstances
Faith is not merely believing when things look good, but believing when they look impossible.
3. Power of God’s Word Delivered by His faithful Servants
The role of Rev. Fr. Joseph was pivotal—not just as a messenger, but as an instrument of God’s hope. Bold declarations of God’s promises matter.
4. God’s Glory in Delay
Sometimes delayed blessings serve to deepen faith, refine character, enlarge hope, and glorify God all the more when the promise is finally fulfilled.
Invitation & Reflection
If you are someone who has waited long for a promise, someone who has seen many doors close, perhaps you relate deeply to this couple. Let this testimony encourage you: hold on. Speak the word of faith. Let others speak it—and believe it.
God is faithful. He sees your heart, He knows your wait. And sometimes, just when it seems nothing works, He moves in a way beyond what medicine, reason, or human expectation can accomplish.
Closing with Hope
May this story remind us all that for Jesus Christ, nothing is impossible (Lk.1:27). He comforts the broken, rewards those who wait, and fulfills His word in His perfect timing.
“And whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” — Jesus Christ (Matthew 21:22)
